Ombori launches first deployments in Middle East

Ombori today announces the launch of its smart mirror and other new retail technology in the Max Fashion Store of the Future at the Ibn Battuta Mall in Dubai, the largest themed mall in the world.

At the entrance to the store, Ombori is providing an interactive display that welcomes customers and provides fashion inspiration. The display wakes up when a person approaches it and can then be controlled by using their mobile device as a remote control. The display connects the physical store with the e-commerce on maxfashion.com, allowing customers to make online purchases and to save products for later.

Inside the store, Ombori has created a smart voice controlled mirror with a camera that allows customers to view products and offers simply by speaking to the mirror. It also takes entertaining photographs they can share with their friends. The mirror is fully bilingual, speaking English and Arabic.

“This is one of a number of high profile pilots we are rolling out worldwide, developed with the Ombori Grid platform,” says Ombori CEO Andreas Hassellöf. “We are setting out to create new and exciting customer experiences that allow shoppers to interact with brands in ways that combine the power and convenience of technology with the immediacy of being in a physical store. We’re proud to be working with a rapidly expanding retail group, and it’s very exciting to launch in such a prestigious location.”
